Oh how I love my job!

So last night I had to work the Indians game. I was shooting game up until the 8th inning when I had to go set up in the Upper Deck to shoot the fireworks show they were having. The game is then tied and looking to go into extra innings. My boss texts me saying "change of plans, shoot the game!" So I call him and he gives me instructions on what he needs etc. So basically I race to the elevator, go to the main concourse and grab the camera. Then I race down to the camera pit on the third base side. Meanwhile I am sweating and freaking out that I am going to miss everything. I have a back bag, one of the those huge 400mm cameras with the mono pod attached, my own camera around my neck and then also a mounting bracket. I was surprised I didn't drop anything let alone fall on my face down the stairs.

Next I set up and am waiting. Luckily we headed into 11 innings so I was lucky. My boss texts me "watch for a walk off home run and watch the plate." Next thing I know Luis Valbuena hits a solo shot to right field and sure enough all the guys are surrounding the plate! Click click click. I just held the trigger down to it was all over!

Then I had to shoot fireworks and get back up to my bosses office to get him the photos. He opens them and goes "THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE MONEY SHOT RIGHT THERE! THAT'S WHAT WE NEEDED!"

He sent my photo to all the top people in the front office and they may be blowing it up huge to replace an old in the clubhouse! The tribe writer has a MLB blog and here is what he wrote!

Also if you go to the Terrace Club on the main concourse where the elevator is, another of my photos is blown up on the wall. It's a stadium overview at night!

Really...I do love my job!

Drumroll Please....

I GOT IT!

So I found out about 2 weeks ago that I was chosen for an internship which I applied for back in November.

I went through a couple of rounds of interviewing and was basically their first choice because they were still hiring one more person. :)

So what is it you ask?

Photographer for the Cleveland Indians!

I am so excited. My bosses are great. I start May 7th, with a meeting to finalize paperwork, get my super duper press pass with picture included and also set my schedule. Because there will be two of us working, we split all the home games. Nothing like enjoying a free game of baseball a couple nights a week!

I will be taking pictures of the game, fans, special events like meet and greets...basically whatever they want me to do.

So if you come to an Indians game, look for me! :)

IT'S A GIRL!

I can finally tell all of you!!!!

So yesterday Shawn, Nikky and my mom went to the doctor's office to find out the sex of the baby. And yes I will be adding a niece to my collection of auntie duties! I was recently shopping for baby stuff for a friend's baby shower on Sunday and realized how cute baby girl clothes are! Now I can spoil my new niece just as I have for Rachel and my nephews. Glenn and I are road tripping down to Florida at the end of August. Baby is expected on September 3rd.

The name is Breawna Marie. (Shawn just had to have his name fit in there somehow, and Marie is both Nikky and Rachel's middle names).

Not to mention, I was recently asked by the two of them to be both Rachel and Breawna's GodMother. Just another reason to spoil them! :)

Important Days to Come

Officially in one month I will be graduating from college. It's crazy how four years really went by so fast. College created so many memories, whether good or bad. I met amazing people as well as others who I could live without. I still remember the first week, specialized for freshmen. That would be the day I met some of my best friends even to today. It's weird in college compared to high school. You are with the same people all the time yet in college the faces can constantly be changing. Granted I do go to a school with only 1400 students, but still it's big and small at the same time. Some friends have transferred out, graduated or decided school wasn't for them. Friends are engaged, having babies and getting married. They say you are suppose to meet the one you will marry in college and I know that's why I met Glenn. Call it crazy and moving too fast but it's such an amazing feeling knowing you met your other half.

In the next month there are some very important days:

April 17

Mom's Birthday

April 20-21
Senior Presentations...yikes! One includes a 20 page paper and a big presentation. The other includes a 20 page paper as well. I may cry....

April 22
Shawn's Birthday

And most importantly...April 10th!!!
Opening Day for the Indians. Glenn and I will be there bright and early taking the whole day in. Expect to see us on the home run deck! We are so excited!

After graduation...
No idea. Waiting on a potential job offer to have a decision. Moving back home with Glenn for sure, just not sure when.

Well I guess for now I try not to count the days but savor them as my college career comes to an end in a few short weeks...

Until next time...

Only turn 22 once

Being at a school where the end of the spring semester comes in late April definitely has it's pluses. Basically spring break occurs during my birthday which allows me to go home and spend it with my family. Glenn and I headed home to my mom's and enjoyed a couple of days of fun.

Enjoying the birthday...

Friday the 6th:
Had to run some errands with Glenn. Then decided to go to my sister's and surprise my nephew, Jaden, as he got home from school. We arrived a little bit early so we all hung outside (had beautiful weather!) while Jonah played with trucks in the dirt and Liam enjoyed fresh air.

Caught you!

About to ram trucks

For whatever reason, Jaden stepped off the bus with his head down looking all sad. I yelled to him "cheer up!" and this was the sequence of excitement afterwards. For some reason it went backwards. But you get the idea.

After going inside, we played some Wii. Jaden kicked mine and Glenn's butt in Mario Kart. He then challenged Glenn to a tournament for another game. So close but so far, Glenn lost to a 7-year-old. It's okay, maybe next time. After Jonah woke up from his nap, he and Jaden decided Glenn was their new junglegym.

Later that night Glenn and I went to Outback for dinner with my dad. Oh so yummy. They even sang happy birthday to me and brought me a free dessert. :)

Saturday the 7th:
Glenn does a weekly radio show in Lakewood so I went with him to watch. Afterwards we went home and changed to get ready for the big night. My mom was taking us downtown for dinner and then to the Cavs game. But first we celebrated my birthday. Mom had put balloons and a cake on the table. Glenn and her sang happy birthday and I blew out my candles. I opened my gifts from my mom and my brother.

Yay- I have had Oli for a year!

Picking at the cake :)

Then we jumped in the car and headed downtown. We were going to go to the Hard Rock but the wait was almost an hour. Um...no thanks. We ended up eating at Tower230 which was really good. Afterwards we headed to the Q and found our seats, all the way up in loudville. We enjoyed watching all the pregame stuff especially the players warming up.

Cavs Win!

Jumbo Tron during half time!

Throwing the powder up

We are all witnesses

It was a great game and the Cavs beat the Heat!

Upon returning home we had some cake and then I crashed in bed. The next morning Glenn and I went to the Pancake Breakfast that Kiwanis holds every year. After a full belly of french toast and syrup we went back to my mom's to pack and head back to Adrian.

OKG

I apparently shouldn't have a blog because I suck at updating it. This could be a while.

First off:
Glenn moved in with me. Big step yet it was easy. We get along GREAT. He is a great cook and also cleans. Found me a winner! :) Haha no really we never fight and we agree on everything so really we have no problems.
Here are a couple of photos of our craziness in the past weeks!

Him and Olivia are inseparable

Here are some of our snow adventures too...

Flipping into the snow

Our snowman because the snow was crappy

Getting ready for sledding

Now for all of you Buckeyes...

Glenn in his glory

So basically having Glenn here has been a blast! :)

Next: Working on my final semester of college. Going pretty well. 4 classes including two senior seminars. Classes are only M, Tu and W. :) Graduation is May 3rd! Crazy!!!

Thirdly: Is it spring time? I am so sick of the snow! It's finally melting here and has just been icy. Yet I think we are expecting snow...again...later this week. I need it to be April 10th, NOW! (Opening Day duh!) Have no fear, I will be there!

Um...Ok getting bored of writing! :) Love you all!

Until next time...

Back to School, To Prove to Dad I'm Not a Fool

Today I started my last semester of college.

Where did it go? They say it's the best four years of your life and it will fly by. They were right. Part of me is so ready to get out and just live life! I'll know I accomplished great things like graduating college and be able to do whatever knowing I am not slacking or taking a crap on education. When I was at home on break, I grabbed the atlas and started making a list. Not so much a Bucket List but more like all the places I have ever wanted to go and just needed to jot it all down. I started with countries - then major areas in them. Next were the states and different places in each one.

This brings me to my next idea. I started dating a new guy, Glenn. He is amazing, and we have a ton in common, especially sports, baseball specifically. So starting this summer we are going to every baseball park. We are starting by going to the Jake for opening day!!! Soooo excited!!!

I have been to Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago (WS), Atlanta and Minnesota, but we are going to all of them together.

We are currently planning on a trip to Baltimore - DC - Philly - NYC - Cooperstown- Niagara Falls - Pittsburgh. During our trip we have it planned out to see a game in every city except the Falls and Cooperstown. =) Can't wait! I have only been to the Burgh for a game and then Philly for the airport. (That's a whole other story in itself!)

Then Glenn and I are going to Tampa, Atlanta and then to Miami to see the Marlins before we see baby Brinager be born.

Can't wait to graduate...

If you would like to send money to the Baseball Park Fund, please let me know...

Haha, kidding!

AUNTIE KT

So I am sure most of you have heard, Shawn is having a baby!! Well granted he isn't but you know what I mean. But ya, Nikky is pregnant and due around the end of August. I can't wait to be there and see the little Brinager! I am really excited to see what he or she will look like since they will be blood related. Don't get me wrong, the joy and happiness I felt when my sister (step) had her second and third boys was amazing. I love being an aunt! Well most of all I love spoiling them!!!

Shawn really wants to have a boy. I know he will be happy either way but still, he wants a boy to wrestle and play sports with. He would be even happier if the kid goes to Ohio State and plays football. GO BUCKEYES! You should see how hard he tries to get Rachel to say Go Buckeyes and dress in Buckeye gear. Mind you he does live in Gatorville. Such a rebel.

Come august I will have another niece Briana Marie or nephew, Brevin Michael...

=)!

No Cookie For You

Almost a year had gone by since I last talked to my dad. After the almost death of my brother in August and the real death of a friend last month, I questioned why am I still holding a grudge against my dad. We have one life, one chance...one dad. I guess when you get to the point of forgetting why you are even angry with a person, that it is time to accept the understanding of needing to fix things. I called him Christmas Day and he was more than happy to meet up for dinner the following day. Granted I sat in my driveway hemming and hawing about even calling, not knowing what to say. Luckily we just picked up where we left off and it felt good to talk to him. I just finished watching a couple of home videos from when Shawn and I were little. I wish I could remember those times a little better especially when I was really little. Nothing better than turning 2 and wrestling Shawn and saying "No cookie for you." I even found an old Christmas tape that had Alex, our doggie on it. I loved her and it was nice to see her. I think about how I want to take tons and tons of photos and videos of everyone so I can sit back and watch in years to come.

Just some random thoughts....
